ECN account — frequently asked questions

An ECN (Electronic Communication Network) account passes your orders directly to a pool of tier-1 liquidity providers — major banks, prime brokers and non-bank market makers. There is no dealing desk in the middle, so you get raw market spreads (frequently 0.0 pips on EUR/USD) and Tradenifty earns its revenue from a transparent per-side commission.

ECN spreads on Tradenifty start from 0.0 pips on majors and 0.2 pips on minors, with a flat commission of $3.50 per side per standard lot ($7.00 round-turn). For most active traders the total cost (spread + commission) is meaningfully lower than the wider all-in spread on a Standard account.

ECN accounts are designed for scalpers, high-frequency traders, expert-advisor users and anyone who trades larger size or relies on consistent execution. If you trade infrequently or in small size, a commission-free Standard account may be simpler and ultimately cheaper.

The minimum deposit for an ECN account is $500. This funds your margin and ensures you have headroom for normal position sizing without immediately triggering margin warnings.

Yes — ECN accounts have no restrictions on holding time, strategy type or expert advisors. Tradenifty is broker-neutral on technique: scalping, news trading, hedging and fully automated strategies are all explicitly permitted, with execution typically completed in under 50ms.

ECN accounts have the same maximum leverage as Standard accounts (up to 1:500 on majors, subject to jurisdiction). The difference is execution model and cost structure, not leverage.
